Christmas had been a quiet affair so Jim was hoping the New Year's Eve would be less so. He'd invited McCoy along with him but the older man had begged off, saying he was too old for this shit or something. Uhura and Spock were spending time together so it was just Jim and a bar full of people he didn't know.

He was about two drinks in and he'd taken up residence in a corner booth in the back, sitting there alone. There were tons of beautiful women around and he just didn't want to flirt with them right now. Maybe after he got drunk he'd be better prepared but right now, he just wanted to be alone.

"Depends on what they are," he said easily. "I don't wanna have to do a lot of thinking or boring stuff like that."

"Funny, neither do I." And that was why she was taking one of his hands off her thigh and sliding it up to her breasts instead. "Let's not think, Jim."

"Thank you," Jim told her, filling his hand with her breast and squeezing gently. "I thought maybe you'd just forgotten my name or something."

"Where did that voice come from?" Jim asked just before she kissed him. The question was out there and she knew he wanted to know but it could wait until his lips weren't on hers.

"Me." And there was that voice again. Between kisses his mouth, some deeper, some lighter. "It's just me."

Amped up in sexiness.

"Mmm, I don't know if I've ever heard it before," he murmured, sliding his thumb over her nipple and sighing into her mouth. "I like it. It was hidden all this time."

"And now it's here." And oh so many terrible things would follow in its wake. But right now it was pretty nice, wasn't it? The phone sex whisper against his lips. She shifted a little, grinding her hips down into his. "Bet you like listening to me now even more than you used to."

"I always liked listening to you," Jim told her, tipping his head back and pressing his hips up into hers. "I don't care what you sound like. You always sound good. You just sound different now."

"I said 'even more'," she pointed out – as she ducked down pull on his shirt to lick his neck. Which probably showed how much she cared about the distinction. "You were supposed to say yes."

"I'm not going to say more because I've always liked listening to you no matter what I might have looked like," he murmured, sighing. "I always liked to hear your voice whatever tone it took on."

"Tell me it's hot right now or I'll stop using it."

That was an order. He got a bite to go with it, too.

"It's hot," Jim said obligingly, squeezing her breast sharply. "You know it's hot. You're hot. Keep using it."

"Better," she told him, with a little moan to go with that squeeze. "Now unhook my bra."

"Are you going to say the magic word?" Jim wondered, giving her nipple a little twist and smirking up at her.

Envy gave a little gasp, but shook her head.

"No. I think that's going to be your job tonight."

"Saying the magic word is going to be my job?" Jim checked, raising an eyebrow. "That's easy, though. Please."

Envy laughed. "I don't think it's been that easy for you all the time," she said. "Still. Unclasp my bra. I won't tell you again."

"I'm kind of curious as to what you will do if I don't comply," Jim said but didn't want her to actually get up and leave so he reached up and started unclasping her bra. "But, I don't want to find out tonight."

"I would be upset and annoyed," she told him, dropping a kiss on his chin, then a few others along his jawline. "You wouldn't want that, no."

"Maybe when I was feeling particularly stubborn and bitchy," he murmured, getting her bra undone and sliding it down her arms. "It would have been fun to match you then."

"There's nothing fun in me leaving."

She shifted a bit, helped him get the bra off her, and tossed it aside.

"I wouldn't let you leave if it came to that," he told her, sitting up to kiss one of her breasts. "We could have had angry sex or something."

"Oh?" she asked, or maybe it was just the sound she happened to make at his lips on her breast. She ran her hand through his hair as she looked down at him.

That tone was back in full force. "What kind of angry sex? All harsh with you pulling my hair? Treating me like I've treated you badly?"

Since Jim's lips were currently occupied, he couldn't really acknowledge those words without nodding and looking up at her. He ran his tongue over her nipple and then switched sides, going over to the other breast and licking against it.
