Jim didn't have much to pack but what he had was all stuffed into his bags. All that was left was to wait around for his portal. It was scheduled for later tonight for some reason and after seeing that the only other portal back home was in a month's time, he'd had to take it.

To pass the time, he was sitting on his stripped bed, playing some stupid game on his phone. He was trying to ignore the fact that he'd miss this place and the people. He was trying to be cool and collected and not at all sentimental because that was the kind of guy he was.

It required a lot of repression. And Jim was a repression expert.

[Open door/post. Jim's last post on island for now and totally good with SP since I'm getting this up a little late.]

Jim hadn't even realized Thanksgiving was this week until he'd looked at a calendar. The realization didn't really change anything, though. He wasn't going to go home (Thanksgiving with his stepfather? No thank you) and he wasn't planning on cooking any big meal as seemed to be tradition.

He'd probably go to the mainland or something, find a restaurant that was open, eat there, and then come home and watch football or something else mindless. It sounded kind of sad when he thought about it but he also didn't care at the moment. He'd celebrate any way he wanted to celebrate.

With no classes today, Jim had his earbuds in and his music loud. He was thumbing through a magazine while he stretched out on his bed. Getting up to be productive just wasn't alluring right now. Maybe later. In a few hours.

Awhile.

[Door and post are open. Mmm, sort of method RP though I'm playing Minecraft, not reading a magazine.]

After the picnic yesterday, Jim was taking it easy today. Wandering around in only his shorts all day had given him a bit of a tan (and sunburn) and the heat had sapped a lot of his energy so he wasn't going to be doing much moving today.

Jackson, who was currently a bunny, was on his bed, flopping around and chasing a few twigs that Jim had brought in for him. Jackson was going to owe Jim so much for taking such good care of him. He hadn't left him in the ocean once and that was a huge step up from the whole basketball incident.

Jackson the bunny was kind of cute but he would never, ever admit that. Not to anyone. Jim was scrolling through games on his phone and keeping an eye on the bunny as he did. Lazy day.

Jim was up at an ungodly early hour. It was almost depressing. The fact that there was no reason for being up so early just made it worse. He wasn't even dealing with the latest island strangeness so he was just up early.

And it sucked because he was going to get bored. He'd already snatched breakfast from the common room and he'd already contemplated the many creative ways he could drive Jackson crazy and now he was back to square one.

He could hear Frank's voice in his head, telling him to make himself useful by getting himself lost. He could hear his mom saying -- well no, he couldn't hear that because she was never around. And he damn sure wasn't thinking about what his dad might say.

Instead, he was trying to stave off boredom by reading a magazine. That wasn't going to last long. Was it too early to find an open bar?

The notion of sleeping in wasn't unfamiliar to Jim. He tended to do it all the time. If people really wanted to see him, they could wait until he got his lazy ass out of bed and woke up.

Right now, he'd accomplished the out of bed part. His hair was still standing on end, his eyes were still blearily and he'd already mistakenly gulped down some flat soda thinking it was water but he was awake and he was clothed (and he was sorry about that, ladies). One of his first thoughts upon waking up was that he could totally be excused if he messed up Jackson's side of the room in his half awake state.

Yawning, Jim pulled the door to his room open and leaned against the door frame, peering out into the hall to see if anything interesting was going on. And maybe he was trying to sniff out some free food or something that'd help him wake up a little easier.

If not, he was liable to fall asleep standing up. Wouldn't be the first time.
